"Over there, our minds are clear" - Kade Ruotolo on why Costa Rica oasis will always be their home away from home
What a lot of fighters would consider a dream retirement is what Kade Ruotolo and his brother experience on a daily basis.
While they still spend time with their family in the United States, their home away from home is in Costa Rica.
They have spent time in recent years to establish their ideal gym out there so that they can continue to train at the highest level in holiday-like conditions.
Alongside being able to train and surf without any issues, they like to live in a peaceful environment.
Kade has spoken in the past about removing himself from his mobile phone, and Costa Rica is just another extension of this, freedom and peace in his life without the overbearing hustle and bustle of the modern world.
In a recent interview on the Beasts with Brains Podcast with Alex Wendling, Kade spoke more about why they chose Costa Rice to be their ideal living conditions:
"Over here, it's so easy to get caught up with everything. But over here, our minds are clear. So over time, we always knew that was where we wanted to settle down and focus on into our careers. Now, day by day, it's becoming a paradise."
Kade Ruotolo isn't taking his foot off the gas either
Despite already living in a perfect place to wind down a career, it is completely the opposite for both him and Tye.
They've got everything around them that they could possibly want, but kicking up their feet is never something that is on the mind of either brother.
Both of them continue to rack up wins and remain undefeated in ONE Championship.
Following Tye's recent win at ONE Fight Night 23, all attention now turns to ONE Championship's return to the United States on September 8.
Kade will look to defend his lightweight submission grappling world championship in a super fight with Mikey Musumeci at ONE 168 inside the Ball Arena in Denver.
