Paddy Pimblett called out by unranked UFC lightweight: "I'm coming to test that chin"

In less than three years, UK MMA star Paddy Pimblett has made his mark in the talent-stacked lightweight division with six straight victories, including four finishes. He most recently conquered the challenge of King Green with a first-round submission win at UFC 304.

However, lurking in the shadows are hungry challengers, who want to test themselves against Pimblett and squeeze out the hype that has made him a household name. Pimblett walked out of the Green contest unscathed and issued a callout to Renato Moicano. He took to Instagram to lash out at detractors and wrote:

"Not a single mark on my face… but apparently I was gettin dog walked."

Unranked lightweight contender Matt Frevola who is scheduled to take on Fares Ziam on September 28, 2024, at UFC Paris, commented under Pimblett's post to congratulate the Liverpudlian. He also issued a challenge to Pimblett after the Ziam clash, writing:

"They hate you cuz they ain't you. Good win lad & congrats on the ranking but more importantly becoming a dad. I'm gonna handle business in Paris and then I'm coming to test that chin."

While fighting is in his blood, the birth of his twin daughters serves as added motivation for Pimblett. Speaking in an interview with UFC, he said:

“A lot’s changed. I got two daughters now, I’ve got two baby girls, so I’ve got them to think about now. I’ve got to put food on the table for my kids, so I can’t let him stop that." [H/t: ufc.com]

He added:

“Of course, you’ve got more motivation. I’m not a quitter anyway, I’d never quit, but when I’m in that Octagon and [it] gets tough, I know all I got to do is think of my two daughters Betsy and Margot and I’ll push through anything.”
