Paddy Pimblett claims he submitted UFC 282 opponent Jared Gordon twice in five minutes while grappling
UFC's rising star Paddy Pimblett is all set to compete in his fourth octagon appearance on December 10. 'The Baddy' will take on Jared Gordon in a lightweight fight in the co-main event of UFC 282.
Ahead of the event, the Liverpudlian made quite a surprising revelation. During a recent interview with Michael Bisping for BT Sport, Pimblett shared that he had grappled against Gordon in early 2018.
The 27-year-old added that he submitted 'Flash' twice in the span of five minutes.
Pimblett argued that since then he had grown leaps and bounds, and would prove himself to be the better mixed martial artist come fight night:
"I've rolled with Jared Gordon, you know?... Rolled with him and submitted him twice in five minutes. Guillotine [choke] and a triangle [choke]. I don't think he even remembers that. And I was a big fat bast*rd then. I was about 90 kilos...and I had a broken hand...that was early March, 2018. The improvements that I've made over the past four-and-a-half years, they're ridiculous, lad."
Pimblett also mentioned that he intended to remind Gordon of their past encounter during the UFC 282 pre-fight press conference.

Paddy Pimblett gives prediction for his fight at UFC 282
Paddy Pimblett believes his fight against Jared Gordon at UFC 282 will be done and dusted within the first round.
'The Baddy' iterated the same during his chat with Michael Bisping. Pimblett said that he would either knock 'Flash' out or hurt him enough to catch him in a submission:
"It's either going to be a knockout [in the first round] or I hit him with me hands and me kicks and then he tries to grapple and I submit him."
Paddy Pimblett has an MMA record of 19-3, and 15 of those 19 victories have come via finishes. Throughout his professional MMA career, 'The Baddy' has scored six knockouts and submitted nine of his opponents.
However, Jared Gordon is not to be counted out. 'Flash' is 4-1 in his last five UFC fights and coming into this one brimming with confidence.
