Paddy Pimblett discusses new UFC contract, rubbishes rumors of leaving promotion for "B-league organizations like Bellator or PFL"

Amid rumors of a UFC exit, Paddy Pimblett has put his supporters' minds at ease by revealing details of his new contract.

Earlier this month, 'The Baddy' generated headlines by revealing that his UFC 304 fight with King Green is the last on his contract. In one of his earlier YouTube vlogs, Pimblett indicated that he intends to re-sign with the promotion but might be enticed by a potential boxing bout or potentially just gauge his value in free agency.

However, during a backstage interview with TNT Sports at the Co-op Live, the lightweight contender squashed such rumors, confirming that he has signed a new six-fight deal with the world's premier MMA promotion:

"People made a big deal out of me saying, I'd box someone. Obviously I'd box someone if they are paying me millions of dollars. We're prize fighters, but that got turned into a headline that I was leaving the UFC. Why would I leave the UFC when I'm about to get a ranking?"

Pimblett added:

"Why would I leave the UFC, the marquee MMA promotion? People don't even call MMA, MMA. They call it UFC. Why would I go to one of these B League organizations like Bellator or PFL?, where all the crabs who can't get singed by the UFC go to? I'm not going to any silly second-tier organization."

Paddy Pimblett previews King Green clash at UFC 304

Paddy Pimblett believes he has made huge strides in his stand-up game in recent months and is confident of knocking out King Green at UFC 304. During a pre-fight press conference for the pay-per-view, 'The Baddy' claimed that his opponent is greatly underestimating his striking prowess and power:

"I'll be honest I didn't believe in my own power until the last few months. Like boxing coach Chris [Williams], my coaches in the gym, Ellis [Hampson] , Paul [Rimmer], Adam [Cullen] they've like said to me and even my sparring partners have said to me like recently, 'Lad, you don't realize how hard you hit...' So I know for a fact, that if I put a hand on his chin or a shin on his chin, that he is not going to get up lad. He is going to be as stiff as a board."
