Paddy Pimblett looks thinner in new video with more than a month remaining before UFC 282 fight against Jared Gordon
In a recent Instagram post, Paddy Pimblett showed off his incredible weight loss ahead of his fight against Jared Gordon at UFC 282.
Paddy 'The Baddy' Pimblett, who is known for his physical transformation before and after his fights, has split opinion with his fluctuating weight. Pimblett competes at lightweight (155 pounds), but can reach 200 pounds between his fights.
Pimblett's extreme diet before and after his appearances has been seen as the subject of concern for some fighters and fans. Even UFC president Dana White warned the 27-year-old after his last fight against Jordan Leavitt in July:
"We know that fluctuating and cutting that much weight is very bad, and it definitely doesn’t prolong your career... It hurts us too. We have to be very specific when we plan fights for him, because he's nowhere near close to weight."
In an interview with The AllStar in August, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski also expressed his concern for the Liverpool native, recalling his own experience with fluctuating weight:
"I used to go from 145 to 190 in one week. It’s not healthy. It’s terrible for you... It blows my mind how his head just balloons like that. Its quite funny... But I think there’s a lot of people that probably care for his health as well, because it ain’t healthy. I know because I’ve been in the same position.”

Pimblett, however, remains mostly unbothered by the comments on his weight and has made jokes on the subject in response. It seems he intends to stick to this routine, at least for the near future.
Jared Gordon wants to team up with Paddy Pimblett after their fight
Jared Gordon will face Paddy Pimblett at UFC 282 in December in a lightweight contest.
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Gordon stated that while he is excited to fight Paddy Pimblett, he is looking forward to raising awareness about mental health along with 'The Baddy':
“He preaches for mental health. I preach for mental health. I think together, we could raise awareness for mental health... I think together we could do something to raise awareness instead of just fighting. But in the meantime, we can just entertain the fans, put on a good fight, make some money, better ourselves, and help other people.”

Jared Gordon has been open about his struggles with addiction and has been vocal about using his platform to share his experience with those who may need to hear it. His website includes a helpline page with references and contact information for various recovery resources.
Paddy Pimblett himself has spoken out in favor of spreading mental health awareness, most notably during his post-fight interview at UFC London in July.
Pimblett expressed his wish for men to talk about their mental health and that the stigma surrounding it must end.
