Paddy Pimblett outlines path to victory against Bobby Green: "Just smother him"
Paddy Pimblett recently weighed in on his upcoming bout against Bobby Green and outlined what he believes will be his strongest path to victory. The bout is significant for the Englishman as a win could propel him into the UFC lightweight rankings.
'The Baddy' has become a polarizing fighter in recent years due to a controversial win over Jared Gordon, but he has been proven to be an attraction for his home nation. The 29-year-old will be in for a tough test as Green is currently ranked No.15 and coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over Jim Miller.
The UFC uploaded a clip to their X account ahead of this Saturday's pay-per-view, which shows 'The Baddy' discussing his game plan for 'King' and noting that he believes he has been overlooked. Pimblett mentioned that his grappling is superior to Green's and will be looking to exploit that in the octagon. He said:
"The biggest challenge, obviously...[Green's] a very good boxer. He's got good hands you know what I mean? But he's more of a point-scoring fighter, he doesn't really knock people out cold...I can see me beating him anywhere...I can see me knocking him out, but obviously where I excel is the grappling and if I take him down, I'll just smother him. I doubt he'll get out in the first round if I get him down early."

What is Paddy Pimblett's record inside the UFC?
Although Bobby Green has momentum from his most recent win over Jim Miller, Paddy Pimblett should be equally as confident ahead of UFC 304.
Since joining the UFC, 'The Baddy' has won all five of his bouts inside the octagon and is currently riding a seven-fight-winning streak dating back to his tenure in Cage Warriors. The Englishman has also been awarded a Performance of the Night bonus for three of his five wins in the promotion, which is impressive.
Pimblett most recently competed at UFC 296 this past December, where he earned a unanimous decision win over former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson.
