Paddy Pimblett's attitude after Jared Gordon fight might've compromised his fanbase, says Laura Sanko
UFC and ESPN analyst Laura Sanko believes Paddy Pimblett's attitude following his fight with Jared Gordon may have left a sour taste in fans' mouths.
Pimblett and Gordon went head-to-head in the UFC 282 co-main event earlier this month. 'The Baddy' had promised fans a spectacle, hoping to land a highlight-reel knockout. However, he was instead taken to three rounds in a largely uneventful 15-minute scrap.
Pimblett ultimately had his hand raised via unanimous decision, but many found the result controversial, with the consensus seemingly being that 'Flash' had done enough to secure at least two rounds.
Despite the close nature of the fight, the Liverpudlian stated that he won every round and coasted in the third. A host of fans in the arena and at home disagreed with that statement, with many wanting to see some humility from the British fighter.
In a recent interview on Submission Radio, Laura Sanko stated that Paddy Pimblett did himself a "disservice" by refusing to acknowledge his lackluster performance and the close nature of the fight against Jared Gordon:
"I think he did himself a little bit of a disservice...Paddy's done such a good job of being brash and confident but at the same time having a great component of mental health and wanting to help people, giving back to the community... But then when you have the moment when the audience wanted him to say, 'Man, that was a close fight.' ... I think his reaction did him a little bit of a disservice."

Terrance McKinney claims he would defeat Paddy Pimblett via first-round KO
Unranked UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney had some stern words for Paddy Pimblett following his display against Jared Gordon earlier this month.
'T-Wrecks', who also called out Pimblett for his tirade against Ariel Helwani, believes that himself versus the Liverpudlian is the fight to make next as both fighters are vying for a ranking in the division.
In an interview with James Lynch, the 28-year-old was confident in his chances against Paddy Pimblett and described the potential fight as "domination" in his favor:
“Just domination. He [Pimblett] won’t be able to take me down, one. Two, he won’t be able to stand with me. He might be a good grappler, but he won’t be able to scramble with me because of years of wrestling. No matter what, we get him out of there in the first round, but for the fans, I would not wrestle. I’d look to put him out unconscious.”
