#3. Paulo Costa reacts to Khamzat Chimaev's UFC 308 victory

Paulo Costa has given his reaction to Khamzat Chimaev's submission win over Robert Whittaker, which came in the first round of their clash at UFC 308. Chimaev dominated the former middleweight champ, securing a takedown in the opening seconds of the fight. He eventually locking in a face crank that damaged Whittaker's jaw for the victory.

Folling Chimaev's win, 'Borrachinha' took to X and sounded off on the 30-year-old. According to Costa, Chimaev was "lucky" to get the win because Whittaker had sustained an "injury."

In a now-deleted tweet, Costa wrote:

"I won't ask UFC to feed me with this disconcerted goat depraver anymore, this gonna happen anyway, and I will receive him on my lap graciously. He was lucky enough that Rob [Whittaker] broke his jaw before he submitted. (Rob's jaw wasn't broke by squeezing) only nonsense thought this way."

#2. Sports doctor explains Robert Whittaker's UFC 308 injury

Renowned sports doctor Brian Sutterer recently offered an in-depth analysis of the injury Robert Whittaker suffered last weekend. In the co-main event, Whittaker tapped immediately as Khamzat Chimaev locked in a face crank submission, leading many to wonder if his jaw had been dislocated.

Following their bout, images of Whittaker's mouth and jaw surfaced on social media and showed that his teeth had been displaced due to Chimaev's submission attempt.

Sutterer, who appeared on Ariel Helwani's new show, then offered his perspective. According to him, Whittaker had suffered a broken bone below the teeth, not a dislocated jaw. He explained:

"What we were seeing in that picture was just absolutely terrible... Basically, this lower portion of the bone, where those teeth are anchored, broke. That's why you see those three teeth still attached together but pushed back into his mouth. So technically, it's not a true jaw fracture."

#1. UFC removes seven fighters in latest roster update

The UFC has confirmed signifcant cuts in the roster, after it was revealed that seven fighters had parted way with the promotion. Amongst those released, heavyweight Robelis Despaigne and men's flyweight Matheus Nicolau certainly stand out.

When Despaigne was signed, he was considered a real coup for the promotion. The Cuban had been tipped for success. After winning his promotional debut, he went on to suffer back-to-back defeates. Nicolau, like Despaigne, had started strongly at flyweight, but went on to lose his last three bouts.
