Paulo Costa reveals he did not get the "negotiation" he was hoping for with UFC

Paulo Costa has addressed his canceled bout with Robert Whittaker, which was scheduled to take place at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia.

The Brazilian appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, where he discussed what factored into the fight falling through as well as his contract status with the UFC. He mentioned that he wasn't happy with how the negotiations went and that he hoped for better, saying:

"Hunter just put the number and said, 'Take or not.' And this is not the kind of negotiation." [12:13 - 12:20]

'Borrachinha' also touched on the UFC promoting the fight with Whittaker at UFC 284 despite never being offered a contract for the bout, and mentioned that if the promotion sent him a better offer, he would accept a fight in March, saying:

"They didn't sent a contract or terms or nothing. They just say, 'If you want to fight Whittaker, let's do that fight.' But I cannot do that fight, fight the number-one or number-two high level guy like Whittaker for the same money that I'm getting since 2017. No make sense. I say, 'Okay, I could fight him, let's fight, but pay fair money.'" {2:52 - 3:22}

It will be interesting to see whether the promotion attempts to reschedule Costa vs. Whittaker for one of the pay-per-view events in March or if they decide to go in another direction with the former UFC middleweight champion.

Paulo Costa revealed that his 'Secret Juice', which has taken a life of its own in his hilarious social media posts, will soon be available for purchase.

While speaking with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, 'Borrachinha' noted that USADA has asked him for the formula for his 'Secret Juice.' He mentioned that he refused to provide that information and added that the drink will be available soon, saying:

"They [USADA] want the formula. Of course, I will not say...And that's another thing I want to raise some money and I have a lot of 'Secret Juice' order to make to produce. I need some money to produce that. 'Secret Juice' is coming, Ariel Helwani, next month... We start with pre-order then after that for big store, I hope."
