"People will want to watch me" - Jacob Smith guarantees he'll trade strike for strike with berserker Rodtang at ONE 169
Jacob Smith is heading into the biggest fight of his career to date knowing that he will need to leave it all out there. The Brit has always been a gritty fighter who is happy to go tooth-and-nail with anyone in the world until one of them gets their hand raised.
ONE Championship fans saw that on his debut in the promotion when he faced Rodtang Jitmuangnon and was able to go three rounds with 'The Iron Man'. After some time, their paths will now cross once again at ONE 169 where the Thai superstar puts his flyweight Muay Thai world championship on the line.
The fans inside the State Farm Arena in Atlanta may be familiar with the champion and what he brings to the table.
For those who haven't watched Smith compete in the past, he's looking to introduce them to what he's all about by going out there and doing what he does best.
He spoke in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA about how without giving his away approach, the fans can expect fireworks on Nov. 8:
"I'm not gonna let you know in detail, but what you can expect from me is everything that I usually bring in terms of excitement and people will want to watch me."
Jacob Smith comes into this fight confident due to experience
Jacob Smith admitted that his ONE Championship debut and loss to Rodtang was a lot to handle all at once. Having fought with one of the best in the world, he now knows what to expect which has also been helped by his subsequent outings.
Smith looks back on their first encounter with the knowledge that he can and will do better at the second time of asking. If the world champion is expecting a repeat of what happened last time, he could be in for a shock.
