"Perfect landing" - Relive how Nong-O set up the hellish uppercut that put Felipe Lobo to sleepĀ

Before Nong-O Hama returns to action on Sept. 27, relive the hellish uppercut that put former world title challenger Felipe Lobo to sleep at ONE X.

The Thai megastar was 'the man' to beat in the bantamweight Muay Thai division after dominating every opponent in his way since 2018. Rising star, Felipe Lobo thought he could make unprecedented history by knocking out the longest champion at 145 lbs. But Nong-O had other plans.

In the third round of their epic world title war, Nong-O averted one of Lobo's jabs to return a perfect right uppercut to the chin. The impact immediately dropped Lobo unconscious on the mat as the referee ran to his aid.

ONE Championship paid tribute to Nong-O's fantastic KO on Instagram recently, with a caption that has sent fans into a frenzy:

"Perfect landing. How will the fight between Nong-O and Kiamrian Nabati play out at ONE Friday Fights 81?"

"My goal is I want my belt back" - Nong-O says he's determined to retire as the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion

Nong-O Hama is determined to prove to the world that he can string up a few good wins this year to secure another chance at bantamweight gold.

Back in April 2023, Nong-O surrendered an unbeaten 10-fight winning streak and his 26 lbs gold to Britain's current champion 'The General' Jonathan Haggerty by way of a stunning upset.

Since then, the 37-year-old veteran has added one more loss to his resume against Nico Carrillo, until finding his rhythm again against fellow Thai brawler, Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai.

If he adds one more victory this September, it could mean world title implications for Nong-O. But in the meantime, he doesn't mind reminding fans that he's still a force to be reckoned with, even without the golden crown on his head.

Speaking to ONE, he said:

"My goal is I want my belt back. I won't say his name. I just want my belt back. Because everyone keeps saying his name, and they've already forgotten that I used to be an eight-time ONE World Champion."
