Photo: Coach Eric Nicksick pens two-word tribute to Francis Ngannou's late son with a heartwarming picture of the two

Coach Eric Nicksick recently posted a picture of Francis Ngannou with his late son. This happened after Ngannou's title victory over Renan Ferreira, after which the former burst into tears as he remembered his kid.

Ngannou squared off against Ferreira in the main event of PFL: Super Fights: Battle of the Giants. The heavyweight title showdown occurred this past Saturday at the Mayadeen in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

'The Predator' immediately changed gears in his bout against the Brazilian, executing a takedown after a cautious start. Once on the ground, Ngannou unleashed a barrage of ground-and-pound attacks, prompting referee Dan Miragliotta to step in and end the fight in the opening round.

Following the fight, Nicksick took to social media and shared a picture of Ngannou with his late son Kobe, who passed away earlier this year. The American captioned the post:

''For Kobe.''

Following his win, Ngannou talked about the psychological toll of preparing for the fight after losing his son. During the in-ring interview following the fight, the 38-year-old acknowledged that the previous two weeks had been extremely challenging, saying that he found it impossible to concentrate.

Ngannou dedicated his victory to Kobe and fought in his honor. He said:

''I only did this fight because of him [Kobe]. I wanted to fight for him... And I'm done. So I don't know. I hope they can remember his name because, without Kobe, we wouldn't be here tonight...It was tough. It's been tough. The past... I think not only the training camp was tough, but, the past 2 days were very tough, full of emotion. Couldn't do anything, without thinking about it. I mean, I'm trying to [stay] strong, tell myself to keep moving, but it's hard, man. It's just hard."
