PHOTO: Daniel Cormier shows gnarly closeup image of Robert Whittaker's jaw undone by Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev handed Robert Whittaker a brutal injury besides a loss at UFC 308. Shortly after the conclusion of the UFC 308 main event, it became apparent that Chimaev's neck crank had injured Whittaker's jaw. Later, Daniel Cormier publicized an image of Whittaker's broken jaw, which showcased how terrible his injury was.

Chimaev made quick work of Whittaker in the co-main event of UFC 308. The Chechnya native played to his strengths right from the beginning of the fight. After securing a takedown in the second minute of the first round, Chimaev began hunting for submissions vigorously.

Whittaker managed to climb to a half-standing position at one instance. However, Chimaev dragged him down to the canvas again, before securing the top mount after dragging Whittaker down. 'Borz' didn't take much more time to transition to a neck crank, forcing a quick tap from 'The Reaper'.

However, the image that Cormier publicized revealed the real reason behind Whittaker's swift tap-out. A post on X from @mma_orbit showcased Cormier's snap, displaying, how Chimaev's neck crank broke Whittaker's jaw and dismantled three of his lower incisors.

However, times have changed, and Chimaev, who once devalued the UFC championships, now wants a shot at the divisional gold. During his octagon interview with Daniel Cormier, Chimaev asked Dana White to give him a shot at the "belt".

"Dana, what's wrong with you? See man, give me the belt [title shot]. Woooo."
