Photos: Fans come up with UFC Screenshot of the Year nominees
With another majorly successful year for MMA now behind us, a fan on Reddit suggested their own award category: the UFC Screenshot of the Year. Many fans came together to offer up their own nominees for the fabricated award.
Leading the list of nominees is a moment from Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards' UFC 278 main event bout. Before the fight, with both men standing across from one another and referee Herb Dean sounding off their instructions, 'Rocky' looked to the camera confidently as 'The Nigerian Nightmare' stared him down.
Knowing the shocking upset that would later ensue, this screenshot perfectly captured what was to come.
Another nominee is the moment between Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya at the UFC 281 presser. 'Poatan' is pictured starting down at 'The Last Stylebender' with ill intent, highlighting the bitter rivalry that both men share towards each other.
The third nominee was during Nate Diaz's main event bout with Tony Ferguson at UFC 279. The card was forced into a major reshuffle due to Khamzat Chimaev's weight miss, but the Stockton fighter was determined to fulfill the last fight of his contract. The bout pitted two veterans against one another, and the crowd erupted when Diaz forced Ferguson to tap in the fourth round.

Chael Sonnen snubs Leon Edwards for UFC Comeback of the Year award
Chael Sonnen recently gave his pick for the comeback of the year and opted to go with Jiri Prochazka over Leon Edwards for the award.
Although Sonnen was indeed impressed and respectful of Leon Edwards and his stunning win against Kamaru Usman, 'The American Gangster' decided against picking 'Rocky' due to the nature of 'Denisa's victory.
In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Sonnen decided that Jiri Prochazka's fifth-round submission against Glover Teixeira was his winner due to their back-and-forth contest, which won Fight of the Year in its own right:
"It was [Jiri] Prochazka over Glover [Teixeira]. I just thought about how great that fight was. For how many times it looked like that fight was going to be stopped... And then the fact that we get the mathematical equation at the end of the night, which is that Glover was 30 seconds away from remaining world champion... I thought that Prochazka should have got more credit. I saw the skills, and I saw the heart."
