UFC superstar Israel Adesanya is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in MMA today and has a massive fanbase. 'The Last Stylebender' recently got a taste of what it means to be a fan when he met comedian Dave Chappelle.

On Twitter, the Nigerian-born Kiwi expressed his excitement at meeting the legendary standup comic, revealing that he was "starstruck":

In a subsequent post on Instagram, the former UFC middleweight champion shared a sneak peek of his meeting with the popular comedian in a series of pictures.

The pictures show Israel Adesanya hanging out backstage with Dave Chappelle, Aquaman actor Jason Momoa, and comedians Donnell Rawlings and Marshall Brandon.

In the post, Adesanya expressed his respect for Chappelle, while also giving a shoutout to Momoa. 'The Last Stylebender' wrote in the caption of his post:

"Crazy experience watching a master live. Imma keep watching the greats and giving them their flowers while they’re here. Then there’s my hot mate Jason too!"

The 33-year-old is currently gearing up for his highly anticipated rematch against Alex Pereira at UFC 287 on April 8 in Miami. Last year at UFC 281, Adesanya suffered a fifth-round knockout loss to 'Poatan', losing his middleweight championship.

Now 0-3 against Pereira across combat sports, Adesanya will be looking to exact his revenge at UFC 287.

Israel Adesanya shares timeline for his UFC retirement

Former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is certain that he won't be sticking around in the UFC for long. Speaking to the media at UFC 284, the 33-year-old shared a possible timeline for his retirement.

Adesanya said that he is planning to leave the promotion in the next five years. Furthermore, 'The Last Stylebender' intends to leave the sport while he's still on top:

"If I'm being honest, I'm not going to be here in five years. I've other things to do in life... I never attach myself to this, I love this s**t and I'm f*****g great at it, but I never attach myself to this and I'm going to leave on top."

He added:

"So yeah, that's the best way I feel like you should leave... We'll see how long I'm are here for, but I don't think it's going to be five years."
