Photos: Jon Jones, Ciryl Gane and Georges St-Pierre feature in Netflix's La Cage series' promotional posters

UFC stars Ciryl Gane, Jon Jones, and Georges St-Pierre will star in the upcoming MMA-themed French Netflix series, La Cage (The Cage). The series will star French actor Melvin Boomer (Reign Supreme) as Taylor, a young aspiring MMA fighter who employs the help of a grizzled trainer named Boss, played by series producer and co-creator Franck Gastambide.

To bolster the legitimacy of the series, the showrunners had MMA icons 'Bones', 'Bon Gamin', and 'Rush' play key roles in helping Taylor reach his UFC dreams. Jones was even featured in the final seconds of the trailer with some inspirational words.

As promotional material, Netflix France uploaded some posters dedicated to each MMA star:

Though this may be the first mainstream acting role for Jones and Gane, this wouldn't be the first dance in front of the camera for St-Pierre. The former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion starred in the Marvel film 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' and its subsequent follow-up series, 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier'.

Jon Jones to defend UFC heavyweight title at UFC 309 inside Madison Square Garden

At UFC 309 on Nov. 16, Jon Jones will be under a different kind of right light as he returns to the octagon after a year away due to injury. Across the cage from him will be arguably the greatest UFC heavyweight champion in history, Stipe Miocic.

This is a massive test for the consensus MMA GOAT, who conquered the heavyweight division last year after spending more than a decade dispatching at least three generations of top-level UFC light heavyweights.

As for Miocic, the two-time UFC heavyweight champion holds the record for most consecutive UFC heavyweight title defenses with three. That number might not seem like much but given how a fight can end with a single punch from a 265-pound behemoth, Miocic dispatching three in a row is nothing short of legendary.

The two were scheduled to face each other at UFC 295 in November last year. Jones had to pull out due to injury, pushing the fight a little over a year to the day. It would be Jones' first fight in over a year while it's Miocic's first in over three years.
