Photos: Jon Jones shares candid working stills from upcoming short film about a Navy Seal he's a part of

Jon Jones made his acting debut earlier in the year, with a minor role on Netflix's 'La Cage,' where he played himself. Now, he is set for his sophomore stint in front of the camera, where he will play a soldier in 'Edo's Crossing.' Jones took to Instagram to share several on-set snaps of the film.

He can be seen with his fellow cast members in full military gear. There is no known release date for the film, at least none from any official sources. However, it promises to be yet another showcase for Jones, despite only being a short film instead of a long blockbuster.

Jones is at the peak of his success as an MMA fighter, having recently defended the UFC heavyweight title with a lopsided third-round TKO of all-time great heavyweight Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. Now, he is expected to face interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall in a title unification bout.

However, Jones has been adamant that he will only accept a fight with Aspinall if the UFC pays him an absurd sum of money, a demand that he also in the past when seeking a heavyweight bout with Francis Ngannou. Unfortunately, failed negotiations led to a rift between him and the promotion.

To make matters worse, Ngannou subsequently left for the PFL, vacating his heavyweight belt. But with Jones' acting career slowly taking off, he isn't hurting for money.

Though it remains to be seen if he will indeed face Aspinall as many have demanded, or light heavyweight kingpin Alex Pereira, who 'Bones' seems more keen to fight.


Jon Jones recently spoke about pursuing acting after retiring from MMA

In a recent interview on Alex G Was Here, Jon Jones was asked about his five-year plan. While Jones certainly won't be fighting forever, he revealed that he intends to fight two more times in the UFC, before ultimately committing to an acting career once his fighting days are over.

"Within the next five years, I wanna win one more fight, maybe even two more fights and try and make as much money as possible in the UFC. And I want to launch my acting career. I've always wanted to be an actor."

With the MMA GOAT having accrued a measure of popularity with his dominance in the UFC, he could follow in the footsteps of the great Georges St-Pierre, who has also become an actor.
