O'Malley has shown his affectionate side with his daughter in several UFC videos. While he has expressed joy in spending quality time with Elena, the moment has often been overshadowed by scrutiny regarding his relationship with his wife, Danya.
Many fans have highlighted the contentious polyamorous nature of his marriage, where O'Malley had openly discussed his unconventional arrangement, admitting to cheating while claiming his financial support of the family granted him certain privileges. 'Suga' has claimed in the past that he's allowed to be intimate with other women, while Danya is not allowed to do so because he financially supports his wife.
The American was last seen in action against Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306. He lost the fight and dropped the bantamweight title via unanimous decision after defending his title against Marlon Vera at UFC 299. O'Malley's head coach Tim Welch recently claimed that a rematch between the 30-year-old and Dvalishvili is "very likely" to be booked next.
Sean O'Malley's coach previews a potential rematch against Merab Dvalishvili
Sean O'Malley lost the bantamweight title to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 306 and has been teasing a potential rematch against 'The Machine' in a bid to recapture the throne.
After the fight, O'Malley disclosed that he had entered the bout with a torn labrum and underwent surgery shortly afterward. This revelation led Dvalishvili to express interest in a rematch, asserting that he wanted to prove himself against a fully healthy opponent.
O'Malley's head coach, Tim Welch, confirmed the likelihood of a rematch in a recent interview with Submission Radio. While previewing the rematch, he claimed that they could adjust their strategy for a different outcome. He said:
"We fix a couple [of] things in that fight and then that fight is completely different... Especially if we get Sean to 100 percent where he can go out there and let loose, not be afraid to commit. Not be afraid to get taken down... get back up and just be able to create a scramble and not be worried about his cardio and not be worried about his hip hurting. I think it's really likely to happen."
