“Pick up where I left off” - Freddie Haggerty looking forward to resuming winning run at strawweight in teasing his next bout
Freddie Haggerty revealed his plans to return to strawweight.
Freddie, the younger brother of Jonathan Haggerty, started his ONE Championship tenure with three consecutive knockout wins in the strawweight Muay Thai division.
In January, Haggerty stepped out of his weight class and fought undefeated prospect Jordan Estupinan at flyweight. Estupinan won by unanimous decision.
While speaking to the South China Morning Post, the 20-year-old striker from the United Kingdom had this to say about returning to strawweight:
"It's back at my normal weight, so we're excited to be back there, pick up where I left off. He's a Southpaw. I haven't faced a Southpaw at strawweight yet, it's a good task. He might set a few things up as well."
Freddie Haggerty's first three fights in ONE Championship were showcased on the Friday Fights circuit. The strawweight prospect's last appearance at flyweight represented his debut on the primary roster at ONE 170.

Freddie Haggerty shuts down rumors of him not wanting to fight Johan Ghazali
Freddie Haggerty is focused on pursuing a world title in the ONE strawweight Muay Thai division. With that said, the 20-year-old is aware of the many intriguing matchups at flyweight, including 19-year-old Johan Ghazali.
Ghazali has previously accused Haggerty of avoiding a fight between them. The rising young star responded by saying this during the previously mentioned interview with the South China Morning Post:
"His theory is delusional, and that is the truth. If ONE comes to me, said if I wanted to fight Johan, I would say, yes, like there was no tomorrow."
Haggerty followed up by saying:
"I done a post because I see it myself. I see it, and I said, I don't fear no one that bleeds the same as I do. And that's God's honest truth."
Johan Ghazali is coming off a loss against Johan Estupinan, marking his second defeat in three fights. The 19-year-old flyweight is scheduled to return against Diego Paez on June 6 at ONE Fight Night 32.
Ghazali plans to bounce back with a knockout against Paez and then pursue a rematch against Estupinan, who fights on the same night against Taiki Naito.
