"Power Slap destroys PFL" - Dana White shreds "hilarious" Donn Davis after latter's bigger numbers than UFC claim
One of the things people love about UFC president Dana White is that he never lets any disparaging comments towards him or the UFC slide. It doesn't matter if you're a simple internet troll with 20 followers or a chairman of an international fight league, if you speak out of turn towards the UFC, you're gonna get an ear-full.
Case in point, the out-spoken UFC president recently went off on PFL founder and co-owner Donn Davis, who claimed that his PFL Superfights: Battle of Giants card last weekend beat all UFC events this year in terms of viewership.
At the post-event media scrum of Power Slap 9 in Abu Dhabi today, White said this of Davis' claims:
"That guy's hilarious. First of all, the PFL should keep the UFC out of their mouth. They can't even deal with Power Slap. Power Slap destroys PFL, alright... First of all, let's start with followers. Power Slap has 19.2 million followers, PFL has 10. Video views. PFL fight week did 326 million, Power Slap 8 did 690 million. PFL fight week [and the aftermath] Instagram views, 76 million. Power Slap 9, [just] the week of, they had 68 million on Power Slap - and we haven't even had a fight yet."
The UFC president mentioned a few more statistics to support his cause, and then focused his attention on Davis, saying:
"Listen, I understand and I love the stuff that he [Davis] said. He sounds like [US presidential candidate] Kamala [Harris]. Talks a lot, but says nothing. And I would hate to be one of that guy's investors."

Dana White also goes off on newly-crowned PFL heavyweight Superfight champion Francis Ngannou
Another part of PFL that Dana White has a problem with is his former heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou. The Cameroonian powerhouse left the UFC while still holding the belt in 2021, after failing to come to a contractual agreement with White and his team.
Since leaving the UFC Ngannou went on a short stint in boxing, where he performed marvelously against pound-for-pound great Tyson Fury but was knocked out by Anthony Joshua after. Tragedy befell Ngannou's life after his 15-month-old son, Kobe, died due to a brain malformation.
Last weekend, 'The Predator' made a successful return to MMA by stopping Renan Ferreira for the PFL heavyweight Superfight belt.
On Ngannou's recent career trajectory, White said:
"Francis [Ngannou] is all about the money. Francis left because he knew that if he fought Jon Jones and didn't win, it would hurt his chances of making the money that he wanted to make. But, realistically, his deal was bigger here. His deal was bigger here if he stayed in the UFC."
White added:
"I was gonna cut Francis when he lost two in a row [vs. Miocic and Lewis in 2018]. I was gonna cut him, yeah. Somebody around here begged me not to do it [motions his head to people at the back]."
