Power Slap star Sheena Bathory makes eye-opening remark about family's reaction to her choice of career, details how she got into it

Franciska Szabo, famously known as Sheena Bathory, recently weighed in on her foray into Power Slap and discussed her family’s reaction to her decision to embrace the unconventional sport.

'The Hungarian Hurricane' was one of the pioneers who stepped onto the Power Slap stage even before the promotion officially launched. The slap-fighting league hosted several trial events at the UFC APEX to establish rules and fine-tune the competition.

Following one of these preliminary tests, Bathory went viral for delivering a thunderous slap that sent her opponent flipping onto the mat. Since then, the 33-year-old Hungarian has risen to prominence as one of the most renowned athletes in the slap-fighting world.

During a recent interview with Mirror Fighting, Bathory revealed that she initially moved to the United States with the ambition of pursuing a career in professional wrestling. However, when Power Slap came into the picture, the sport's raw intensity immediately captured her attention:

"I started doing some pro wrestling shows, and then Power Slap crossed my way. They invited me to the exhibition competition, and I was like, ‘Hmm, that’s actually very interesting, you know? It sounds super violent, so I was like, 'Maybe this is something that I’m looking for.' I wasn’t thinking about it long before I accepted this invitation, and yeah, I just stayed in this industry, and I really like it."

'The Hungarian Hurricane' further shared that her family wasn’t caught off guard by her decision to join Power Slap, as they have always been involved in combat sports and understand her drive to pursue bold endeavors:

"Actually, they were not really surprised because they know I like the big challenges. I like everything that involves power and strength because I wasn’t only competing in judo... So I’m just enjoying competing, and they know the more challenging and dangerous it is, the more desire I have. So they absolutely supported it."

During an interview with UFC.com, Sheena Bathory mentioned that she had envisioned Power Slap's popularity skyrocketing on a global scale in the future and expressed that she feels privileged to have the opportunity to be part of such a promotion:

"I knew that Power Slap was going to be big, and it’s only going to be bigger, and it’s all around the world. I just feel lucky that I get the opportunity to become famous with this new sport. But I think it suits me pretty well because I have a very dominant side, and I can’t release that."
