"Princess" Khamzat Chimaev asked to put on a shirt by Dricus Du Plessis to avoid catching "another cold"
It has nearly been a full year since Khamzat Chimaev entered the octagon as his last bout came at UFC 294 last October. In his last outing, he defeated Kamaru Usman, who moved up a weight class on 10 days notice, via majority decision.
The No. 12-ranked middleweight appeared set to face Robert Whittaker in the main event of UFC on ABC 6 in June, however, he was forced to withdraw from the bout.
The pair have been re-scheduled to face one another in a five-round co-main event at UFC 308 next month. A win could lead to 'Borz' receiving a title opportunity against Dricus du Plessis.
Chimaev recently called out du Plessis in comments shared by Freak MMA, stating:
"This is his peak now. You could say that Dricus is a bad version of me. I’ll be back soon and I’ll take him down. For me, Dricus is much more convenient than other fighters. Sean Strickland gets up well, and Dricus he’s a wrestler but more physical. We have the technique, wrestling, counter-wrestling to take him down and hold him. And he knows it himself, that’s why he’s silent about me."
Du Plessis responded by advising Chimaev to put a shirt on to avoid catching cold:
"Put a shirt on princess before you catch another cold"

Chimaev's upcoming bout with Whittaker, in all likelihood, will serve as a title eliminator. Meanwhile, du Plessis will likely defend his belt against Sean Strickland. If both are able to emerge victorious, a clash between the two appears inevitable.
Khamzat Chimaev previously labeled Dricus du Plessis as a 'gay' champion
Khamzat Chimaev previously called out Dricus du Plessis while talking to Darren Till on X Space. The No. 12-ranked middleweight labeled the champion as gay, stating:
"We need to get the title back for the normal people man. This gay who have the belt man, not normal. First time I've ever seen [or] heard [of] an African gay."

While du Plessis has been joined by his girlfriend at several fights, he has come under fire from mixed martial arts fans as he celebrates by kissing his coaches. Cameron Saaiman, who trains at the same gym and does the same with his coaches, explained it as a cultural thing.
