Promotion announces two major updates to UFC 310 headlined by Alexandre Pantoja vs. Kai Asakura

UFC 310 will mark the promotion's last pay-per-view event of 2024. The fight card will take place on Dec. 7 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ahead of the event, the UFC has announced some changes to the fight card.

A heavyweight bout between Tallison Teixeira and Lukasz Brzeski was set to take place on the prelims of UFC 310, but the former has withdrawn and will be replaced by Kennedy Nzechukwu.

Another heavyweight showdown in the form of Martin Buday vs. Rizvan Kuniev was scheduled for the event. Unfortunately, Buday has been removed from the matchup and the fight has been canceled.

MMA legend Nick Diaz was also set to make his return on Dec. 7 to take on Vicente Luque. He has now been replaced by rising welterweight Themba Gorimbo.


What are some matchups to look forward to at UFC 310?

UFC 310 will be headlined by an intriguing flyweight title bout between champion Alexandre Pantoja and Kai Asakura. One interesting thing about the fight is Asakura being matched up with the champion for his UFC debut.

The Japanese fighter has won two fights in a row, whereas Pantoja is on a six-fight win streak. Many MMA fans are curious to see how the debutant will perform Dec. 7.

The co-main event will feature another thrilling matchup in the form of Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Garry. The two undefeated fighters will lock horns in a five-round clash.

A featherweight scrap between Movsar Evloev and former bantamweight king Aljamain Sterling is also set to take place at UFC 310. The winner of the fight will be able to strengthen their case for a title shot.

Apart from that, several prominent names like Anthony Smith, Dominick Reyes, Bryce Mitchell, Chris Weidman, Michael Chiesa and Clay Guida will also compete at the pay-per-view event.
