"Put some respect on my name" - Aung La N Sang looks to continue career resurgence vs. undefeated Shamil Erdogan

Aung La N Sang has already achieved a legendary career by competing under the ONE Championship banner. The former two-weight world champion has seen it all, but he's been in this sport for the long game.

After losing both of his world championships, 'The Burmese Python' didn't ride off into the sunset, he stayed the course.

He overcame some moments of adversity in his career to come back stronger, and he is now riding a three-fight win and finish streak in the middleweight division.

Aung La now looks to make it four when he returns at ONE 168 to take on the undefeated Shamil Erdogan.

His message heading into the Ball Arena on September 6 is to not underestimate him because, like a fine wine, he's aging gracefully in his career. The former champ spoke in an interview with ONE Championship about his plans for his second fight in the U.S.:

"Ten years, 20 fights, man. Put some respect on my name. But I'm excited, man. The best is yet to come, and I promise you that I'm not just saying that."

Aung La N Sang knows what is at stake in this fight

Aung La N Sang is always going to bring a lot of eyes to whatever he's doing because of all the success that he's had in his career.

That being said, the years where he struggled to gain momentum meant that he had some rebuilding to do, but that's exactly what he has been doing in recent times.

With back-to-back wins in 2024, he's now looking to kick off his 2025 campaign with yet another finish in front of the US fans.

'The Burmese Python' is back in the mix, but handing Erdogan the first loss of his career could be the final step he needs to take before earning a shot at reclaiming one of his titles.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
