Regian Eersel on exacting revenge vs Alexis Nicolas at ONE Fight Night 25: “This will build a bigger legacy for myself”

Regian Eersel sees his rematch with Alexis Nicolas as an opportunity to add to his legacy.

This Friday night, October 4, 'The Immortal' will look to even the series with Nicolas after the Frenchman shocked the world six months ago, besting Eersel in a five-round war to claim the ONE lightweight kickboxing world championship.

Now, the two world-class warriors will run it back in the ONE Fight Night 25 headliner on Amazon Prime Video inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Hours away from fight night, Regian Eersel sat down with ONE Championship to discuss his sequel scrap with Nicolas and how it's not just an opportunity to reclaim the 26 pounds of gold he lost but to add to his legacy.

"Oh yeah, what my feelings are for this rematch, but yeah. To add this to my legacy, you know, like I said before, if I win, this will build a bigger legacy for myself. People, you know, you lose in life but it's not how you lose, it’s how you recover from losing, you know."

Alexis Nicolas also has his sight set on establishing a legacy against Regian Eersel

Like his opponent, Alexis Nicolas sees his rematch with 'The Immortal' as a chance to build his legacy as one of the greatest fighters in the history of the sport.

"So it's just a start [claiming the ONE world title]. Now, I have to defend my belt. I know what I have to do. I know why I'm here. And I think ONE Championship is not ready for what's next."

Thus far, 'Barboza' is off to a stellar start to his career. Not only did he claim the ONE lightweight kickboxing crown in his second promotional appearance, but he also enters ONE Fight Night 25 with a perfect 24-0 record.

Will Nicolas leave the Mecca of Muay Thai with his 'O' and his world title intact, or will Eersel even things up with the Frenchman on martial arts' biggest global stage?

ONE Fight Night 25 will air live via Amazon Prime Video in the United States and Canada on Friday, October 4 in U.S. primetime.
