Renato Moicano and Dan Hooker both see their fight as title shot opportunity: "Easy money"
Renato Moicano's callout for Dan Hooker during his UFC Paris octagon interview has sparked an all-new rivalry between the two. Moreover, both these lightweights are confident about getting a shot at the title if they manage to defeat their rival.
Moicano expressed his discontent regarding the taxation laws in France with a tweet after UFC Paris. Hooker, who had taken note of Moicano's callout, took this opportunity to clap back at the Brazilian. 'The Hangman' reminded Moicano about allegedly ducking a fight against him:
"Wasn’t that your excuse for ducking me in Perth?"
However, Moicano denied Hooker's accusation, saying that Dana White and co. never offered him the fight. He also suggested that the clash could happen in December this year:
"They didn’t offer the fight… but easy problem to solve… title fight eliminator in Vegas December #ufc"
The New Zealander wasted little time in accepting the Brazilian's offer along with showcasing his confidence about getting a shot at the UFC lightweight gold if he manages to come out victorious:
"100% they offer me a title shot of beating you it’s a done deal."
However, Moicano clarified that he won't let Hooker have the taste of a title shot. The 35-year-old held onto the words he used for Hooker during his UFC Paris post-fight interview:
"Ahahahahah title shot for me easy money!!!! 🐢🌳"
Renato Moicano mocks Dan Hooker's boost in the current UFC lightweight rankings
Dan Hooker put up a convincing performance against Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 305, earning himself a split-decision victory and a spot inside the current top-five list of lightweights.
However, Moicano was nowhere convinced about Hooker deserved the No. 5 rank on the list. The Brazilian fired a verbal shot at 'The Hangman' during his appearance at the UFC Paris post-fight show on ESPN. He said:
"I don’t know how he’s in the top five, that’s unbelievable. It’s like seeing a turtle in a tree. Have you seen a turtle in a tree? Somebody put him there. That’s the whole thing, you know? He didn’t climb the tree, but he’s on the tree."

Nobody knows whether or who will get a shot at the UFC lightweight gold out of these two. But the array of disses that these two have thrown at each other implies that their clash can turn out to be an absolute barnburner.
