Renato Moicano says Conor McGregor should fight Nate Diaz before Michael Chandler

UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano thinks Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz is the fight to make in the current circumstances. Diaz defeated Jorge Masvidal in a 10-round boxing contest on July 6 to avenge his UFC 244 loss.

Meanwhile, McGregor is recovering from a toe injury that forced him to pull out of his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler.

During a recent episode of Show Me The Money podcast, Moicano said that Diaz should fight McGregor next to end the rivalry conclusively. He suggested that the fight needs to take place soon because Diaz is getting close to his 40s.

"McGregor is the fight to make. Everybody knows. [The fight needs to happen] right away, [Diaz is] 39 years old, brother."

While the UFC appears to be trying to re-book McGregor vs. Chandler, Moicano joked that Chandler should wait until Diaz and Conor McGregor finish the trilogy:

"Then we ask Chandler to wait for the next [opportunity to fight McGregor]. We're going to make you wait for the Diaz fight and then it's you."

For the uninitiated, Diaz handed McGregor his first UFC defeat, a second-round submission, at UFC 196. Conor McGregor avenged the loss with a majority decision victory in a closely contested war at UFC 202.

The trilogy fight could not materialize at the time since both men's careers went in different directions after the rematch. In recent times, McGregor has expressed the desire to fight Diaz.

Conor McGregor predicted Nate Diaz victory against Jorge Masvidal and bet a staggering amount on his former opponent

Jorge Masvidal proved to be the better fighter in his first fight against Nate Diaz that took place in MMA. The rematch took place in the boxing realm, which stripped 'Gamebred' of many weapons that proved effective against Diaz's high-volume fighting style.

In an X post before the fight, Conor McGregor predicted the outcome and claimed that he would bet a six-figure sum on Diaz's victory:

"I’ve decided to put $500,000 on Diaz to win tonight’s boxing match. Range, form, experience, solely hands being used, I can’t see Masvidal causing any problems to Nate in a boxing ring whatsoever. They are both little play around dipsh**s in a fight, play around bollox, but I feel Nate does him in EASY here for real. $500k gets me back $1,625,000 all in. @Duelbits #bestodds"

Following Diaz's majority decision win against Masvidal, the Irishman replied to his post and congratulated his former rival for his success:

"THE RICH GET RICHER!!! Well done Nate, congrats!"
