"Reps on reps on reps" - Takeru's crushing kicks are looking more lethal ahead of showdown with Black Panther

Japanese superstar Takeru Segawa is piling up the repetitions this week, as he prepares for his sophomore outing in the home of martial arts at ONE Friday Fights 81. The abundantly powerful striker is making his anticipated return to Bangkok in September, following his epic ONE debut against Superlek Kiatmoo9 in January.

Determined to get his first victory in ONE, Takeru is laser-sharp focused on stopping Black Panther from getting his title shot.

This week, ONE Championship released footage of Segawa's latest kickboxing session with the caption that read:

"Reps on reps on reps. Will Takeru shut down Black Panther on September 27 at ONE Friday Fights 81?"

Takeru Segawa vs. Black Panther at ONE Friday Fights 81 is expected to be a real barn burner.

'The Natural Born Crusher', for his part, has truly lived up to the hype concerning his elite striking skills. In his five-round brawl against Superlek at ONE 165, Segawa possessed an insane pace, marked by his tremendous footwork, and striking volume. Although he came up short by a hair, the Japanese star proved to be an outstanding addition to the flyweight ranks.

Black Panther, on the other hand, is on a brilliant three-fight win streak. He possesses the grit and power to make this next flyweight kickboxing bout a thrilling fight for the ages.

Takeru Segawa approaches each kickboxing match like it could be his "last"

Takeru Segawa is not the type of athlete who would wither away into oblivion after losing a fight.

Granted, Segawa has only suffered four losses out of 43 wins in his storied career as a kickboxer, but he's holding himself up remarkably well, as he's back to work to prove himself on the world stage.

Maintaining that champion's mindset, the former K-1 champion is ready for the task at hand, as long as he doesn't dwell on the past and lives in the present.

Speaking to ONE, Segawa said:

"I'm approaching each fight like it could be my last. I have been training intensely."
