"Respect future champ" - Fans chime in on Johan Ghazali's call-out of Bosnian knockout machine Denis Puric
The call out of 17-year-old phenom Johan Ghazali to veteran contender Denis Puric continues as he campaigns for a potential fight in the near future.
Ghazali's desire to face Puric began after his first-round knockout victory over Josue Cruz at the ONE 168: Denver card last weekend at the Ball Arena in Colorado.
ONE Championship recently posted 'Jojo's' wish on Instagram, and they captioned it with:
"Next target in sight π― Do you think Denis Puric will be a good matchup for Johan Ghazali? @johanghazali_"
This bold move by the Malaysian-American sensation has become a talking point for fans, as users @gmeemerican, @noturkal, @limktg_7132, and @jackgriffith09 shared their thoughts about this action by Ghazali, and they commented:
"Jojo wants puric because he knows its not an easy opponent. Jojo is still young.. he wants to learn from a tougher opponent. Respect future champ!!"
"why do people always view things negatively, he want to fight more experienced fighters to learn more and be a champion"
"Careful what you wish for.. πΊπ§π¦π"
"That's an absolute wild match up."
Johan Ghazali wants to keep his momentum going, wants to fight anyone that ONE Championship pits against him
Despite naming Puric as a frontrunner for his next fight, Ghazali has made it clear that he is willing to fight anyone the world's largest martial arts organization will put in front of him.
He explained during the post-fight media scrum that this is something that he likes to do because he is a fighter and said:
"Next fight sometime down the line, I'm just putting names out there, I'm ready to fight anyone. And yeah, because at the end of the day, that's what I do. I'm a fighter, and I fight."
