"Respect his sexual tastes" - Paulo Costa trolls Colby Covington after Polyana Viana's NSFW comment
UFC middleweight Paulo Costa, whose fan popularity has come from his social media antics, has taken aim at Colby Covington by trolling him on Twitter.
Costa is notoriously known for his comedic posts on social media and decided to focus on 'Chaos' following women's strawweight fighter Polyana Viana's explicit comments about the 34-year-old.
Viana recently took part in MMA journalist Alex Behunin's 'Humanizing Athletes' series, where he asks fighters generic questions about them that fans might not know, such as their favorite color or meal.
'Dama de Ferro' and Covington were close friends until 'Chaos' appeared on Submission Radio last year. During the interview, the American implied that he and Viana had been intimate.
The 30-year-old denied Covington's story at the time, stating that they had always just been friends. With that in mind, Viana decided to get her own back by following up on her interview with Behunin and adding:
"Colby wanted me to finger him in the a**, but I did not want to. He got upset!"
'Borrachinha', whose social media antics have made him a fan favorite, responded to the comment from Viana. Costa jokingly asked fans to respect 'Chaos' and his sexual preferences.
"please don't accuse Colby of being gay, just because polyana said she stuck her finger in his a**."
The Brazilian would follow up on his post by adding:
"you are very childish! Respec[t] his sexual tastes"
Chael Sonnen responds to Paulo Costa after middleweight fighter teases a switch to boxing
Earlier this week, Paulo Costa revealed that his current UFC contract is set to expire and he could well make the move to boxing if he's not offered a better deal.
'Borrachinha' is one of the most popular fights on the roster, and his career resurgance isn't reflective of his current contract or his earnings. For context, Costa reportedly earned $65,000 to show and $65,000 to win when he defeated Luke Rockhold at UFC 278. In comparison, the American took home a flat $200,000, almost $80k more than the Brazilian.
"My miserable contract with the UFC was up in a few short months. Will expire in time. A new #boxer is coming to town!"
Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen has responded to Paulo Costa's tweet and insisted that if he's moving to boxing just to make money, he's going to be in for a surprise.
In a video uploaded to YouTube, Sonnen stated he couldn't name a single MMA fighter who has gone to boxing and been a success:
"I won't stop until one of them makes some money. If one of them succeeds, any of them MMA fighters who stop MMA to go into boxing... If one of them makes some money, I'll stop. And I only need one."
