Retired UFC fighter finds flaw in the promotion's bonus system

Former UFC fighter Ben Askren has expressed his displeasure with the UFC's bonus system and has called for an increase in the payout.

The current system of the promotion awards $50,000 to each fighter who wins in the "Fight of the Night." They also give bonuses to two other fighters who are deemed to have given the "Performance of the Night."

Askren recently took to Twitter to express his thoughts. 'Funky' claimed that inflation is high and that the bonus payout has been set at $50,000 for far too long. He advocated for a $100,000 raise, arguing that it is past time for the UFC to revise its bonus structure to better reflect the value of top-tier performances:

"Man inflation has been high, those bonuses have been at $50k too long. I think we move bonuses to $100k"

Ben Askren's criticism of the promotion's bonus system emphasizes the need for more equitable fighter compensation. With many athletes struggling to make ends meet, an increase in the bonus payout could help fighters by ensuring that they are adequately rewarded for their efforts.

As the promotion expands and generates record-breaking revenue, it seems only fair that fighters receive a larger share of the profits. The organization can demonstrate its commitment to its fighters by increasing their bonus payouts and ensuring that they are appropriately compensated for the hard work and dedication they put in for their fights.
