Reug Reug predicts an early finish of 'big and tough' Boucher Ketchup: "A first-round head kick KO!"
'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane promises to put his foot through the gas when he makes his kickboxing debut against debutant Boucher Ketchup at ONE Fight Night 23 on July 5.
The Black Panther Sports and 971 MMA affiliate has put his striking tools to good use with three highlight-reel wins in MMA under the ONE Championship banner against Batradz Gazzaev, Patrick Schmid, and Alain Ngalani.
And with his upcoming matchup, a heavyweight kickboxing fixture, playing right into his strengths, the Senegalese warrior is only more confident of his chances to add to his gallery of impressive finishes when he competes inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Speaking to ONE Championship, 'Reug Reug' offered:
"He is big and tough, but you can only withstand the axe so much when you're being chopped down. My prediction is a first-round head kick KO!"
The 32-year-old's upcoming contest will mark his seventh appearance on the global stage after debuting in January 2021. Thus far, he's accumulated an impressive 5-1 promotional resume, with his only loss coming to Kirill Grishenko.
North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch the entire ONE Fight Night 23 card live in U.S. primetime for free this Friday, July 5.
Anatoly Malykhin vows to finish Reug Reug at ONE 169: Atlanta
When he's done dealing damage in the kickboxing gloves, 'Reug Reug' jumps straight back into training camp for his ONE heavyweight MMA world title showdown against Anatoly Malykhin at ONE 169: Atlanta.
Though he remains confident of being the first man to hand the unbeaten Russian the bitter taste of defeat, the three-division conqueror doesn't make much of his belief.
'Sladkiy' told ONE Championship he has not been impressed one bit by the Senegalese athlete:
"He's slow, can't time punches for the life of him, and his cardio sucks. Three rounds, and he's gassed, and this is a five-rounder."
ONE 169: Atlanta will be the promotion's third on-ground show in the United States. The card, emanating live from the State Farm Arena, premieres in U.S. primetime on November 8.
