'Reug Reug' says Anatoly Malykhin is no match for him on the canvas: "I am the number one wrestler"
Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane is gearing up for the biggest fight of his career to date when he returns to Lumpinee Stadium on Nov. 8.
If the Senegalese heavyweight contender is able to maintain his current winning streak, he can leave ONE 169 as the world champion.
The challenger's confidence certainly isn't low heading into his huge clash with the undefeated three-weight world champion, Anatoly Malykhin. In fact, Kane won't even entertain the idea of his opponent holding an advantage over him in any area.
Both men might be better well known for stopping their opponents with the massive power that they bring to the table, but striking isn't their background. Kane and Malykhin come from highly credentialed wrestling backgrounds, but many would expect this to cancel each other which we often see in MMA.
The explosive power of the challenger versus the more technical and calculated striking of the champion is likely going to be the narrative in the main event.
However, 'Reug Reug' is confident that if Malykhin wants to engage in the wrestling, he will beat him there also:
"I am the number one wrestler. I am better everywhere."
Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane has the power to stop anyone
Everyone in the heavyweight division has power but few can match the athletic prowess of Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane.
He's one of the few men that can rival Anatoly Malykhin when it comes to sheer size and athletic ability. With his strength and wrestling ability, a lot of fighters are forced to stand with him which puts them at risk.
This likely won't trouble the world champion, who has become a very confident striker during his time in ONE Championship, partly because he's always facing fellow grappling specialists.
It seems unlikely that this one will hit the floor but if it does, things could get very interesting due to the power that both men hold in their hands.
ONE 169, which emanates live from the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' in Bangkok, Thailand, will be available to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in North America.
