Robert Whittaker acknowledges Noche UFC 306 fighter walking out to his song: "I was like, 'I got a good feeling about this guy'"

Robert Whittaker was happy when he heard Esteban Ribovics using the same walkout song as him at UFC 306 (Noche UFC).

Last Saturday featured a ground-breaking event for the UFC, as they showcased a highly anticipated pay-per-view inside the Sphere. The five-fight main card spectacle opened with a flyweight bout between Ronaldo Rodriguez and Ode Osbourne.

Following the Rodriguez vs. Osbourne war, Ribovics and Daniel Zellhuber stole the show in the second fight of the PPV. Things started with Ribovics walking out to "Can't Be Touched" by Roy Jones Jr. The legendary boxer was singing along to his song in the crowd and later met Ribovics backstage.

Jones Jr. wasn't the only fighter to acknowledge Ribovics' walkout song selection. Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker uses the same song for his fights, leading to the following reaction in the latest episode of his MMArcade Podcast:

"[Esteban] Ribovics walks out to my walkout song, which I can only take as a good luck sign, a good omen. As soon as I heard the music and I saw him walk out, I was like, 'I got a good feeling about this guy. I got a good feeling about this guy.' It was sick. It was my Fight of the Night and honestly one of the better fights of the year." [24:17-24:41]

Esteban Ribovics made Roy Jones Jr. and Robert Whittaker proud with one of the best fights of the year. Once the dust settled, Ribovics emerged victorious by split decision, extending his promotional record to 3-1.

Robert Whittaker returns to the Octagon in highly anticipated matchup against Khamzat Chimaev

On October 26, Robert Whittaker will make his 23rd Octagon appearance, with "Can't Be Touched" likely playing during his walkout. 'The Reaper' looks to secure a middleweight title shot following wins against Paulo Costa (unanimous decision) and Ikram Aliskerov (first-round knockout).

Whittaker's upcoming opponent for the UFC 308 co-main event, which goes down in Abu Dhabi, is the undefeated Khamzat Chimaev. The 30-year-old is coming off a majority decision win against Kamaru Usman and plans to silence the doubters who believe his hype is unwarranted due to inactivity.
