Rodtang reveals two stars that are his soccer buddies: "I usually play with fellow ONE fighters"
Muay Thai superstar Rodtang revealed the two names he considers to be his go-to soccer buddies. It's not surprising that Rodtang has an affinity for all types of sports, but soccer holds a special place in his heart. One of his favorite past-times is to meet up with friends and play 'The Beautiful Game.'
This week, Rodtang, who reigns as the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, said that he plays with an additional two ONE Championship stars to keep the competitive juices flowing.
Speaking to ONE, he said:
"It's a fun sport and there are a lot of friends to play with. I usually play with fellow ONE fighters like Superlek or Superbon, and some of my other friends, too."
As you can tell, there's absolutely no bad blood between Rodtang, Superlek, or Superbon. What's even more astonishing is Rodtang's friendship with Superlek, who is a longtime Muay Thai and kickboxing rival.
In addition, 'The Kicking Machine' is the only man in ONE to have defeated 'The Iron Man' last year in either striking disciplines. Although their rematch is still pending, Rodtang and Superlek continue to put their friendship first above all else. With Rodtang's next fight coming up on Nov. 8, it's healthy to have some downtime with some good friends.
"I will do my best to knock him out" - Rodtang explains why he wants to find the KO finish against former foe Jacob Smith in Thailand
Rodtang recently revealed why he is in desperate need of a KO finish against Jacob Smith at ONE 169. The 27-year-old striker is famed for his knockouts, but in his last two fights, the Thai had a tough time dropping his rivals.
Understandably, his competition has grown stronger since he first started under the promotion. In addition, being plagued with injuries doesn't necessarily help either.
But this time, Rodtang hopes to end things early when he clashes with Jacob Smith in a rematch and successfully defend his crown at ONE 169 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Speaking to ONE, he said:
"I will do my best to knock him out. I wanted to knock him out because I wanted the bonus."
ONE 169 airs live in North America via Prime Video.
