Rodtang says soccer gives him the perfect break from fighting career: "Have fun and relax from work"
It's no secret that when Rodtang Jitmuangnon isn't working on his striking skills or preparing for another contest, he has another favorite pastime.
The ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion is one of the best in the world but even he needs another hobby in order to decompress and enjoy himself.
Rodtang has spoken many times in the past about his lifelong love of playing soccer, which is one of the defining traits of his personality.
This is best shown when shortly after a fight, he will quickly return to the pitch after having to go without soccer for a few days.
If it wasn't for the fact that he's become one of the best in the world at Muay Thai and continues to stay at the top of his game, this could even become his number one priority due to how much he enjoys it.
Ahead of his return at ONE 169, the ONE flyweight world champion spoke about how he uses Muay Thai and soccer to balance each other out:
"Muay Thai is my career and my life. Soccer is also my happiness, but I play soccer to have fun and relax from work."
Rodtang will have to hang his boots up for a few weeks
Unfortunately, his time on the soccer pitch will need to go on hold for a few weeks due to his upcoming bout at ONE 169 on Nov. 8.
On his return to Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, he will be defending his title in a rematch with Jacob Smith.
Having decisively beaten Smith in their first encounter back in 2022, the champion is confident that he will be too much for his opponent once again.
For the challenger, there are no outside distractions that are diverting his focus away from leaving the 'Mecca of Muay Thai' with the gold wrapped around his waist.
