Ryan Garcia announces he is headed to rehab while also addressing recent racist remarks
Ryan Garcia recently announced that he had made the decision to seek professional help and enter rehab after his tirade on social media. He also addressed the recent racist remarks that he made and took accountability for his actions.
'KingRy' caught the attention of the combat sports community for a noticeable change in his demeanor and antics ahead of his most recent bout against Devin Haney. His actions since then have even resulted in his father pleading with him to seek help for alcohol.
The 25-year-old has since come to the realization that perhaps it would be a wise decision to seek help and even apologized for his racist remarks in a lengthy Instagram post, where he noted that his comments were out of context. Garcia then added a comment to the post announcing that he will be entering rehab. He wrote:
"I'm also headed to rehab"

Ryan Garcia issues an apology for racist remarks
Ryan Garcia addressed his racist remarks in the aforementioned Instagram post and issued an apology for those who felt he offended them. The comments resulted in the 25-year-old being removed from having association with the WBC and also the realization that he needed to enter rehab.
'KingRy' was adamant that his intentions were in the right place, but understands why there was criticism. Garcia mentioned that he was discussing black on black crime and expressed his love for the community. He wrote:
"I've supported many black men and many black communities. I'm not mad at the outrage and I sincerely apologize if I hurt and offended anyone. But my pain deserves to be felt, black and brown have always united. And it will always be that way...I was actually speaking against black on black crime...Again I'm sorry."
