“S*** what happened?” - ‘Reug Reug’ almost puts ONE Championship commentator Mitch Chilson to sleep in technique breakdown
Oumar 'Reug Reug' Kane doesn't know when to hold back, even if it's just on a technique breakdown. The hulking heavyweight from Senegal was showing off his sneaky roundhouse kick with Mitch Chilson when he nearly knocked the cobwebs out of ONE Championship's trusted color commentator.
Although Chilson was a former fighter before, he only fought at featherweight and never experienced the roundhouse kick of a 260-pound fighter such as Kane.
Chilson posted the hilarious exchange on Instagram:
"Listen to that crack ⚡️ 'Reug Reug' almost knocked me out! I should've listened to his team and not done the breakdown. Do you think 'Reug Reug' held back?"
Although Chilson had his left hand up to guard, the weight of Kane's kick still sent 'The Dragon' stumbling backward, sideways, and across the room.
'Reug Reug' knew he had done more than what was needed and cheekily replied to Chilson's post.
"Oh s*** what happened? 😂" wrote Kane in the comments section.
'Reug Reug' might have done minimal damage, at least in context, but he'll surely go all out when he faces fellow Senegalese big man Boucher Ketchup at ONE Fight Night 23.
Kane and Ketchup will face off in a heavyweight kickboxing match this Friday, US primetime, at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
ONE Fight Night 23, just like all of ONE Championship's Amazon cards, is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
'Reug Reug' plans to build momentum off ONE Fight Night 23 ahead of world title challenge against Anatoly Malykhin
ONE Fight Night 23 isn't the only card Oumar Kane is featuring in.
The Senegalese wrestling machine is headed to the biggest fight of his career when he challenges three-division MMA world champion Anatoly Malykhin for the ONE heavyweight MMA world title.
The colossal matchup goes down at ONE 169: Atlanta on Nov. 8 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kane said in an interview with ONE Championship that he wants to build momentum off his fight against Ketchup before facing off against Malykhin.
"My big fight is for the world title, but I wanted to hear the roar of the crowd, so this was the best option. I have to destroy this guy."
Malykhin is the first three-division world champion in MMA history and also holds the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight MMA world titles.
