Former 'Impractical Jokers' comedian Joe Gatto recently stirred attention by announcing his planned fight with Mike Tyson. On Friday, Gatto took to X and claimed he would be fighting 'Iron Mike' in 2025 while undergoing a body transformation for the upcoming docuseries 'Fighting Weight'.
The 48-year-old improvisational actor posted:
"Exciting news. In 2025, I will enter the ring with the legendary Mike Tyson - training starts on 1/1/25, and you can watch it all on Hulu. My new show, #FightingWeight, will document my transformation from fat to fit as I push myself to the limit. I appreciate the support of all who made this happen & to Bellagio for hosting the event this summer. New year. New me."

True to his comedic nature, Gatto's announcement serves as a savvy promotional tactic to drum buzz for his upcoming stand-up tour. Although Gatto's assertion of fighting the former undisputed heavyweight champion was obviously playful, it succeeded in deceiving some fans online, who reacted with a wide range of responses.

During a recent interview with Steve Covino and Rich Davis on FOX Sports Radio, 'Iron Mike' opened up about his emotions following the fight and discussed what he plans to focus on moving forward:
"That fight was such a big ascent—we were so up and high, we were so excited. The fight’s over, boom. Wow, I’m kind of depressed a little bit. We got to get back [into] our living situation, back to living. [We were] training for it nine months."
