"Screw you, calf people" - Mikey Musumeci shares his genius way of locking in his patented calf slicer

Reigning ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion Mikey Musumeci has a couple of deadly holds in his vast arsenal, and he recently demonstrated his version of the crushing calf slicer.

Taking to Instagram, 'Darth Rigatoni' revealed he lacked calf muscles and gave fans a step-by-step approach to the submission hold with the help of his training partner, which can be seen below:

He said in the video:

"I'm gonna be going for a straight footlock and Ninja is gonna be turning and as he turns, I'm gonna lock a triangle like so. I'm gonna hug his body and I'm gonna fall to the side here. How I like to finish the calf slicer, instead of locking a triangle over here where Ninja can attack a toe hold, what I'm going to do is... I'm gonna put my knee behind my foot like so."

Musumeci added:

"Now I can drive my knee using my hip into my foot, locking my hands and I get tremendous pressure right onto his calf. Screw you, calf people."

For eagle-eyed viewers, this was exactly how Musumeci pulled off the calf slicer against old nemesis Gabriel Sousa at ONE 167 last month for his fifth submission victory in seven wins as part of the world's largest martial arts promotion.
