Sean Brady issues challenge to Ian Garry and Colby Covington after decisive win over Gilbert Burns

Welterweight contender Sean Brady is pondering over his next steps after his latest win. Brady secured the biggest victory of his professional MMA career at UFC Vegas 97 as he outclassed Gilbert Burns via unanimous decision.

Heading into the fight, Burns was the No.6-ranked welterweight and Brady will most likely replace him at the spot in the updated rankings. During the octagon interview, the Philadelphia native demanded a top-five opponent for his next outing. However, he showed interest in fighting No.7-ranked Ian Garry as well.

Elaborating further on his callout during the post-fight press conference, Brady said:

"I think Ian thinks that he is God's gift to earth and he's not. I feel like everyone in the sport feels the same way. I mean, I'll fight him, I'll fight Colby. I think Colby is the easiest matchup in the division. I'll piece him up on the feet, I'll ride him out."

He added:

"But I would like to fight Ian Garry. He is an up-and-comer. I'm a bit older than him but I am going to be here for a long time. He's undefeated, he's got some hype. I'm going to be ranked ahead of him with that No.6 spot. So, maybe I'll let him fight me."

Garry is undefeated in his professional MMA career with a perfect 15-0 record. He is on an eight-fight win streak in the UFC. The Irishman's most recent victory was a unanimous decision triumph over Michael 'Venom' Page at UFC 303.

Meanwhile, Covington is one of the most popular fighters and a big pay-per-view star of the welterweight division. He has been on the sidelines since the lackluster performance against Leon Edwards at UFC 296. However, he is one of the top contenders in the division and occupies the No.5 spot in the rankings.
