Sean O'Malley airs frustration with UFC promoting The Sphere more than his bout with Merab Dvalishvili: “I’m the one fighting, let’s go"
Sean O'Malley is set to defend his bantamweight title against Merab Dvalishvili in a historic evening at UFC 306. Their clash will headline the pay-per-view card and will take place at the ground-breaking venue known as The Sphere in Las Vegas.
The Sphere is a one-of-a-kind venue that allows fans to be fully immersed in the experience of the show, and the UFC will be the first combat sports event at the already-iconic venue.
The promotion's CEO, Dana White, has already claimed that the gate for UFC Noche will destroy the company's previous live-gate record.
But despite the immense financial success that hosting a UFC event at The Sphere could provide, 'Sugar' recently expressed frustration with the focus of the promotion of his upcoming clash with Dvalishvili.
During a recent interview with Michael Bisping, the bantamweight champion said this:
"We've got The Sphere [card] coming up. [I'm] a little annoyed-ish about the promotion of The Sphere. The Sphere is the show, [but] I'm the one doing interviews, not The Sphere. Let's promote Sean vs. Merab, the Sugar Show. I'm the one fighting, let's go. But it is what it is. The Sphere is going to be legendary, it'll be epic. It'll be cool."

Dana White goes off on Merab Dvalishvili for posting video of a cut ahead of Sean O'Malley clash
Sean O'Malley and Merab Dvalishvili will go to war in a highly anticipated UFC 306 main event clash. However, less than a month away from the bantamweight title fight, Dvalishvili released footage of him after suffering a cut above his eyebrow in training.
'The Machine', who is regarded as one of MMA's wildest characters, took to social media to post footage of his cut, assuring his opponent that their fight would still go ahead.

But UFC CEO Dana White was less than impressed by Dvalishvili's decision and went on a rant about 'The Machine' during a recent press conference. He said this:
"The whole world knows about Merab's cut. He posted it. Our guys are so dumb it's next-level, unbelievable... Our guys can't f**king wait to throw it up on social media. A small cut, it's no big deal. But obviously needed to be posted."
