Sean O'Malley details preparation for potential title shot against winner of Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo
Sean O'Malley recently revealed that he is preparing himself for a title shot in the bantamweight division of the UFC.
O'Malley earned a major victory at UFC 280 when he beat former champion Petr Yan. After his triumph over 'No Mercy,' Dana White promised O'Malley a title shot. Nevertheless, it appears that he will have to wait a few months before getting the chance to become UFC champion, as Aljamain Sterling may have to defend his title against Henry Cejudo first.
In a recent interview on Michael Bisping's Believe You Me podcast, the top-ranked bantamweight contender expressed that he has been honing his grappling skills in anticipation of the upcoming fight between Sterling and Cejudo. Both of them are known for their exceptional wrestling abilities. The 28-year-old also mentioned that he is willing to wait a few months to face the victor of the Sterling vs Cejudo bout:
"I'm training. I'm getting better. I know I need to improve in aspects of my grappling whether I fight Aljo or Henry. They are both very heavy grapplers. So, I am fine with sitting out. I am literally just grappling. That's all I'm really doing nowadays. So, I am fine waiting in the next couple of months, just keep getting better."

Sean O'Malley reveals his pick for a potential Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo title fight
Sean O'Malley expressed his opinion to Michael Bisping about the potential fight between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo, with 'Funk Master's belt at stake.
He said that due to Cejudo's extended absence from the octagon, the fighter does not seem to be in good physical condition. Thus he believes Sterling will be able to defend his title by submitting Cejudo:
"To be honest, I think Aljo probably submits Henry. Who knows how hard Henry's been training? You know, these last few years he had a baby. I mean, he clearly wasn't in, like, good shape. You know, every time you saw him at the fights, he looked fat, drunk. So, I don't know, I think Aljo probably chokes him [out]. I don't [know] what's taken them [UFC] so long to book that fight, so I don't know."
