Sean O'Malley gets eye-opening reality check after Cody Garbrandt comparison

Sean O'Malley lost for the second consecutive time as he suffered a third-round submission loss to Merab Dvalishvili in a rematch at UFC 316. 'Suga' recently responded to comments from former UFC bantamweight kingpin Cody Garbrandt.

'No Love' claimed that O'Malley looked worse after quitting weed. He also suggested that the two should share the octagon, but Garbrandt's loss at UFC Atlanta makes a matchup between them unlikely.

Meanwhile, 'Suga' recently appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show and responded to Garbrandt's criticism. He said:

"The reason I'm off social is because I don't need to see all this s**t, but I do still see stuff. I still watch YouTube and I'll still see things - way less, but I still see things. I saw Cody Garbrandt saying I looked like s**t against Merab. That dude looked sharp last fight. That's all I'll say... It was a little annoying. You know what was annoying? When I saw his hair was braided and he's got those face tattoos."

O'Malley added:

"I was like, 'oh, that's how people see me'. And it was just so embarassing. I was like, 'oh God, I need to f**king get a new look'. That was embarassing. I was like, 'holy s**t'. That was an eye opener. I was like, 'God d**n it, that's how people probably look at me'. It was embarassing."

Sean O'Malley says he will fight again in 2025

Sean O'Malley has fought just once in 2025 and lost. As he looks to work his way back into the title picture, O'Malley has revealed that he plans to compete again this year. During his recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, he said:

"100% I'll fight again this year. The question is when... To be determined. We'll see how things play out. We'll see... We'll see. I'm going to see how this week goes. I gave myself a solid week. Ten days to just kind of relax and I'm going to see how I feel this week. I don't have an answer for you right now, but I'm gonna see how I feel this week."
