Sean O'Malley gets honest about new 8-fight contract extension with the UFC
Sean O'Malley recently re-signed with the UFC, earning a new eight-fight contract with the biggest MMA promotion in the world. 'Sugar' has now weighed in on his contract negotiations with the UFC, revealing honest details.
While O'Malley confirmed re-signing with the UFC, he also noted that not all of his demands got fulfilled. The No.1-ranked bantamweight contender stated that he won't be a pay-per-view stakeholder even if he fights for the bantamweight title next.
O'Malley, who is currently managing himself, is grateful for the contract he eventually signed and believes no manager could have gotten him the same deal. 'Sugar' said on his YouTube channel:
"I tried to get it, you know pay-per-view points not being the champ, didn’t fly, but I will say I did re-sign with the UFC. I got a very gracious contract that I'm proud of... And I truly don't think any manager that I had could have went in there and got me what I got."
O'Malley also claims that his good relationship with the UFC also played a pivotal role at the negotiating table. The 27-year-old added:
"That also helps with the relationship I built with the UFC. I feel like I have 'earned' this contract. I'm not like, 'Hey I deserve this'. I feel like I've earned the amount that I'm getting paid."

The 27-year-old said in a previous episode of the TimboSugaShow:
“I wonder if he’s using that to kind of just be able to chill [and say] ‘I’m injured, I’m injured...' And everyone’s be like, ‘Oh, well you can’t expect him to fight.’ C*cksucker!"
