Sean O'Malley recently gave his views on Paddy Pimblett's performance against Jared Gordon at UFC 282.

Pimblett took on Gordon in a lightweight matchup at the co-main event of UFC 282. 'The Baddy' managed to secure a decision against 'Flash', but the outcome of the match was fraught with controversy. Many fans and MMA pundits claimed that the result was a robbery, accusing the judges of scoring the fight incorrectly.

Acknowledging the Liverpudlian's potential in the sport, the bantamweight said:

"I can't believe Paddy was asking for Fight of the Night...I bet Paddy takes away from that fight and goes, 'Okay, I need to f**king dial in. This is the time where I need to dial in, not get fat as f**k and get skilled, get more skills'. Because he has skills. He knows how to perform. He's not bad. He has a lot of potential...Where is he gonna direct his energy? Is he gonna get better? Is he gonna get fatter? We will see."

Paddy Pimblett stands by his victory over Jared Gordon amidst controversies

Despite many MMA pundits claiming Jared Gordon was 'robbed' of his win, Paddy Pimblett, however, confidently claims to have won the fight rightfully.

Speaking to the media post his fight at UFC 282, the 27-year-old Liverpudlian asserted that he won the fight because of the damage he had inflicted upon his opponent.

Paddy Pimblett may have had a slight advantage in terms of significant strikes, but 'Flash' had almost six and a half minutes of total control time during the fight. However, 'The Baddy' declared that ground control time is useless if a fighter cannot capitalize on it.

"Everyone has got an opinion lad, the opinions are [like] a**holes, you know what I mean? Everyone has got one. I know I won that fight... I won an unanimous decision. It's not even like it was a split decision. Look at his face and look at mine. Fights gets scored on damage now. I landed a lot more damage, end of... Control time means nothing when you don't do nothing with it."
