Sean O'Malley shares his excitement about headlining "legendary" Noche UFC 306 on Mexican Independence Day

Sean O'Malley recently expressed his excitement for headlining the historic Noche UFC 306 event this Saturday. It is a celebration of Mexican Independence Day and will mark the promotion's first event at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

'Suga' is scheduled to defend his UFC bantamweight championship against Merab Dvalishvili in the main event, which will be a tough test due to the Georgian's grappling and wrestling ability. Noche UFC 306 will be his second title defense this year as he earned a unanimous decision win over Marlon 'Chito' Vera in March.

During his appearance on ESPN's 'First Take', the reigning bantamweight champion noted that headlining Noche UFC 306 is a special feeling. O'Malley mentioned that the new venue and the overall spectacle planned makes him grateful to be in a position to headline the event:

"This feels different. This feels legendary. Like, this is my third time headlining a pay-per-view. This feels bigger."

Sean O'Malley describes Dana White's reaction when sharing plans for Noche UFC 306

In addition to sharing his thoughts on headlining Noche UFC 306, Sean O'Malley opened up on Dana White's reaction when sharing his plans for the venue.

The event has already been reported to have cost the promotion over $20 million in production and the UFC CEO has promised it will be an unforgettable experience. During the aforementioned clip, O'Malley recalled his recent meeting with White and described his reaction when sharing how he plans to utilize the Sphere for Noche UFC 306:

"I was in Vegas a couple days ago. Dana [White] took me down to the little Sphere room, just giving me a little tour of it. And there was no cameras on and he was so fired up, it was watching him get goosebumps on his arms giving me goosebumps."
