Sean O'Malley is skeptical of Alex Pereira's boxing abilities despite his "nuke" left hand: "Deontay Wilder also fu*king would"
Sean O'Malley seems to enjoy the idea of Alex Pereira colliding with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder under Queensberry Rules.
On the Timbo Sugar Show via Sean O'Malley's YouTube channel, the reigning UFC bantamweight champion and his coach Tim Welch fielded several combat sports topics on their most recent episode.
In response to former unified heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua saying Pereira should debut in the sweet science, a fan asked who they would like to see 'Poatan' fight in the big gloves and O'Malley said:
"I just think [Alex] Pereira's style just doesn't necessarily translate super well into boxing. He does a lot of things wrong. He has that nuke in his left hand but it's just like dude, he floats his chin a lot."
"He throws; I mean, yeah I guess it depends who he fights. Deontay Wilder also fu*king would be maybe like a good matchup for him. But I mean, I'd f****** still probably watch, man."

Sean O'Malley and his connections to boxing
Sean O'Malley is the top dog right now at 135 pounds in the UFC but he also has an affinity for the sweet science.
Over the weekend, he joined the broadcast team for the Nate Diaz versus Jorge Masvidal boxing match. O'Malley offered up his insights at the commentary desk for Diaz vs. Masvidal II alongside former gloved boxing champion Shawn Porter with both handling colour commentary with established combat sports play-by-play commentator Mauro Ranallo handling that end of things.
The 29-year-old has also engaged in a public war of words with controversial pugilist Ryan Garcia on and off over the last few months. O'Malley and the former interim WBC lightweight champion have trash-talked one another with the initial focus being on a boxing bout between the two.
With Garcia recently having a one-year suspension dealt to him for Ostarine drug test failures and being expelled from the WBC for uttering racial slurs online, it would seem like the prolific boxer would be free to entertain other options.
Garcia has also gone as far as to say he'd be willing to fight O'Malley inside the UFC octagon or under BKFC rules while he is inactive from being able to compete in boxing.
The Montana native also has a bit of professional boxing experience in his own right. Per BoxRec, O'Malley donned the big gloves in July 2016 and bested David Courtney by way of a first-round TKO.
