Sean Strickland believes fighters who 'dry-hump medicine balls' and don't train right and end up losing
Sean Strickland has suggested that fighters who don't undergo hard training and sparring as he does generally lose their fights. Strickland is known for going all in during most of his training and sparring sessions. 'Tarzan' has been the recipient of widespread criticism due to the same, as he often ends up hurting his sparring partners due to his highly aggressive approach towards sparring.
Alternatively, a few MMA personalities, including Strickland's former Team Quest training partner Chael Sonnen, have defended him despite his penchant for sparring aggressively. Over the past few years, there have been multiple instances where 'Tarzan' has knocked out his training partners. One such incident saw Strickland KO his sparring partner with a head kick.

While Sean Strickland's approach to sparring has been criticized by many, including the likes of UFC bantamweight star 'Sugar' Sean O'Malley, he appears to be of the view that hard sparring is paramount to success in fighting. On that note, the 31-year-old has now taken to Twitter to lambast fighters who don't train hard. Strickland tweeted:
"Fighters "why did I lose, I trained so hard" NO... you spent the majority of your time dry humping a medicine ball on Instagram... How many times did you bleed? How many times did you make someone bleed? That's training."
When Sean Strickland went all out in an expletive-ridden sparring session with Denis Douglin
Super middleweight (168-pound) professional boxer Denis Douglin and UFC middleweight (185-pound) star Sean Strickland went back and forth on social media late last year. Their online feud swiftly escalated, and the duo faced off in a boxing sparring session. Despite Douglin's background in boxing, 'Tarzan' appeared to get the better of him.
Strickland repeatedly taunted Douglin and aggressively landed devastating punches. Their intense sparring session saw both fighters continually cuss at one another. That said, they self-admittedly buried the hatchet after the session. Strickland later posted video footage of the sparring session on Instagram and indicated that proceeds from the session would be donated to charity.

Sean Strickland last competed in a short-notice light heavyweight (205-pound) bout against Nassourdine Imavov in January. Strickland bested Imamov via unanimous decision. 'Tarzan's' next opponent and comeback date haven't been officially announced yet.
That said, Strickland has lately been going back and forth with fellow UFC middleweight fan-favorite Paulo Costa on social media. As of this time, Costa too doesn't have his next fight scheduled. Moreover, both fighters have expressed interest in fighting each other, and many believe that a potential showdown between them could materialize next.
