Sean Strickland explains how "woke-ism ruined comedy" in latest social media tirade
Sean Strickland have taken aim at public sensitivities once again. Strickland asserted that 'wokeism' has ruined comedy. 'Tarzan' claimed that previous generations were more open to trash talk and mockery that would be considered offensive in this day and age.
Woke proponents claim that being woke signifies opposing discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Alternatively, woke culture's opponents believe it's a far-left political ideology, which encourages discrimination based on perceived injustices.
As for Sean Strickland, he's regarded as one of the most outspoken combat sportspersons. His detractors have deemed some of his statements/actions as transphobic and misogynistic. 'Tarzan' has also been accused of making racist remarks.
Taking to X, Strickland wrote:
"Woke-ism ruined comedy. Back in the fubu generation we would all make fun of each other face to face in friendly gathering. White, black, gay. Not trans because that didn't exist but it was a good time. Now "no no no I'm not racist, I don't see color, you're Hitler obviously""
An X user replied to the tweet by suggesting, presumably in jest, that bullying your friends should be made acceptable again. Sean Strickland responded by writing:
"The first time I trained at an all black gym I thought "I think you all hate white people" I didn't value them enough:/"
Sean Strickland called out Harley Davidson, accusing its CEO of 'wokeism'
Sean Strickland accused Harley Davidson CEO Jochen Zeitz of perpetuating wokeism. 'Tarzan' posted multiple tweets aimed at the motorcycle company. The former UFC middleweight champion, who's eyeing a title shot next, labeled Zeitz a climate activist who's created a "woke agenda."
Strickland tweeted a video of himself, explaining that Zeitz "wrote the book on wokeism" and was attempting to 'fundamentally change American thinking and culture.' He accused two major U.S.-based corporations, BlackRock and Vanguard, of influencing Harley Davidson's purportedly left-leaning policies.
'Tarzan' alleged that Zeitz was operating at the behest of Hungarian-American billionaire George Soros to ruin the motorcycle brand. Strickland underscored that anyone who loves America ought to get rid of their Harley Davidson bikes, adding that he'll get rid of his at the earliest.
